Acceptable Use Policy

Hampton Roads Online (HRO) supports the free flow of information and ideas over the Internet. We do not actively monitor or exercise editorial control over the content of any web site, electronic mail transmission, mailing list, news group or other material created or accessible from HRO's network. However, HRO does reserve the right to remove any materials that are potentially illegal and could subject HRO to liability or violate our acceptable use policy. Violation of this policy or any form of Internet etiquette shall result in the immediate cancellation of your account.

Dial up Accounts

HRO dialup accounts are intended for use by the individual who signed up for the account. You must be at least 18 years of age to have an account at HRO. Password security is the responsibility of the individual user. Members may not share passwords or accounts with others.

Our flex time policy prohibits continuous connections to the Internet. This policy protects our members and eliminates the need for us to set monthly hard limits. If you need a dedicated line, please feel free to contact our office. If HRO determines that your usage is excessive, you will be switched to a dedicated commercial account and charged accordingly.
If at any time you are unhappy with our service, you may call our office to request cancellation. Any unused time will be refunded. If your account is cancelled due to any violation of our acceptable use policy, there will be no refund of unused time.
